Nagpur, 23 Feb

(HS): Nagpur’s Sadar Police arrested two people in connection with Standard XII

paper leakage recently. The paper leakage was exposed at an examination centre

when two girl students frequenting to washrooms and spending 10 to 15 minutes

there.

The supervisor at

the examination centre found a concealed mobile phone from the examinee. The

examination was being conducted by the State Board in Chemistry. On carefully

examining the mobile phone a question paper in physics and answers were also

detected.

Following

enquiry with two students, Sadar police arrested two teachers were were engaged

in home tuitions. They have been named as Nishikant Sukhdev Mool (4) and Farhan

Akhtar Fahim (18). Both were produced before the court and were gratnded police

custody till February 26.

According to

police, Mool was a private tutor for small batches of Std X and XII students.

During investigation police found that he had created a WhatsApp group of

students through which the question papers and answers were circulated. The

phone numbers of group members were also stored in Mool’s name.

Farhan is

belived to be one of the students and was part of the WhatsApp group. He shared

the question papers and answers.

Police are

investigating Farhan’s action and involvement of others in the leakage of

papers.

Immediately

after the exposure of copying the staff at the examination centre was changed,

by the Nagpur Divisional Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.

Meanwhile,

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that examination centres

where mass copying during Class X and XII examinations are reported, will be

permanently revoked.

The question

papers are usually delivered one hour before the commencement of the

examination and the Centre incharge are allowed to open the sealed packets 30

minutes before the start of the examination.

Police are

investigation whether the question papers and answers were circulated in other

regions.
