(HS): Rich tributes were paid on Monday to the late Deputy Chief Minister Ajit

Pawar and others in both the houses of the Maharashtra Legislature. Chief

Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde were present

in the State Assembly and Council respectively.

The budget

session of the State Legislature began on Monday at Mumbai. At the outset

Fadnavis formally introduced Sunetra Ajit Pawar to the house. Following Ajit

Pawar’s death, his wife Sunetra Pawar has been made the Deputy Chief Minister.

She entered active politics for the first time in Maharashtra. She was

nominated to the Rajya Sambha during the tenure of Ajit Pawar as DCM.

Condolence

resolutions were also passed for the death of former ministers Surupsinh Naik, Dr

Shalinitai Patil, and Raj Purohit, and members Gangadhar Patne, Nilkanth

Phalak, Vishwas Nandekar, Ruplekha Dhore.

Leaders of

various parties extensively talked about Ajit Pawar, his administrative qualities,

timeliness, determination, straight forward nature and as good friend.
