22 Feb (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised the Centre's
efforts for digital and physical infrastructure on Sunday, claiming that
India's change under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has earned worldwide respect
and enhanced residents' quality of life.
Adityanath,
speaking during the launch of Namo Bharat Rapid Rail and Meerut Metro services,
stated that India has established a solid digital public infrastructure that
serves 1.4 billion people and processes approximately 20 billion digital
transactions every month. He
stated that more than 500 million digital health IDs had been created under the
One Health project, allowing people to receive treatment under the
Ayushman Bharat plan.
In
response to accolades from French President Emmanuel Macron, the chief minister
stated that the world has recognized India's accomplishment in harnessing
technology to provide social benefits to the poor, farmers, and young without
prejudice.
Adityanath
stated that the prime minister's frequent evaluation of infrastructure projects
had helped expedite projects worth Rs 85 lakh crore that had been waiting for
decades. Highlighting connectivity gains, he stated that travel time between
Delhi and Meerut has been cut from four to five hours to roughly 45-50 minutes
as a result of highway extension and the introduction of quick train services. Namo
Bharat and metro projects will improve regional connectivity, he said.
The
chief minister also mentioned an impending sports university in Meerut,
semiconductor projects in Gautam Buddh Nagar, and the imminent completion of
the Noida International Airport, claiming that these efforts embody the vision
of a Viksit Bharat. He expressed optimism that the projected Noida Metro
extension will be launched by the Prime Minister once completed in the future
years.
Adityanath
welcomed Modi to Meerut, stating that the new infrastructure projects will
expedite development in western Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Narendra Modi
officially flagged off the Meerut Metro and Namo Bharat trains at Shatabdi
Nagar station here on Sunday, boosting high-speed intercity travel and rapid
intra-city transit.
