Bankura, 22 February (H.S.): A tragic incident has occurred in Patrasayar police station area of Bankura district, where a 23-year-old woman committed suicide after her love affair broke and an intimate video of her allegedly went viral on social media. The police are searching for the accused.

As per information, the woman's body was recovered from her home in Patrasayar police station area on Saturday night. The family claimed she committed suicide. On Sunday, the police sent the body to Vishnupur District Hospital for post-mortem. The family has demanded the immediate arrest and strict punishment of the accused.

According to the family, the woman met a young man through social media about three months ago. She also told her family about this. She said she liked a young man from the Indas police station area, who claimed to be an army soldier. Gradually, a love affair developed between them.

The family alleged that the accused lover contacted the woman using a fake name and identity and lured her to Burdwan under the pretext of marriage. There, in a hotel, the accused had physical relations with the woman and recorded a video of their intimate moments.

The family claimed that the accused later began blackmailing the woman using the video. When the woman refused to obey him, the accused made the video viral on social media on Saturday evening. Due to this humiliation and mental pressure, the woman took the extreme step of suicide.

The family of the deceased woman has demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and the strictest possible action against him. The police say that the investigation into the case is ongoing and the accused is being searched for.
