Latur, 05 January (H.S.): Relatives of a 12-year-old girl who allegedly died by suicide at a school in Maharashtra’s Latur district staged a protest on Monday, demanding that a case be registered against the school administration.
According to police, the Class 6 student, a resident of Taka village in Ausa tehsil, was found hanging in her hostel room at a Navodaya Vidyalaya on Sunday morning. The incident was reported to the authorities following the discovery.
While the police have so far described the incident as a case of suicide, the girl’s family has expressed doubts over the circumstances surrounding her death and alleged negligence on the part of the school administration.
The protesting relatives demanded a thorough investigation into the incident and strict action against those found responsible, stating that the truth behind the child’s death must be brought to light.
