Guwahati, 7 January (HS): Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia on Wednesday launched a sharp attack on Raijor Dal MLA Akhil Gogoi, alleging that he is once again attempting to mislead the people of the state with baseless accusations.
Reacting to Gogoi’s recent claims, Saikia said Akhil Gogoi does not have the courage to prove his allegations. He challenged Gogoi to first clearly explain what he intends to convey by circulating screenshots of a January 4 video conference, instead of creating confusion among the public.
The BJP state president also claimed that there is no consistency within the opposition itself, stating that opposition leaders are contradicting one another on key issues. He alleged that Akhil Gogoi’s politics is driven by minority appeasement, particularly what he termed as “Miya Muslim appeasement”.
Warning the people of Assam, Saikia said they need to be cautious of what he referred to as the “three Gogois”, alleging that among them only appeasement politics is visible. Reiterating his stand, he accused Akhil Gogoi of repeatedly trying to mislead the public and failing to substantiate his claims with facts.-------
