Hyderabad, 05 January (H.S.): Residents of Hyderabad may once again need to brace for an extended spell of winter chill, as foggy and misty conditions are expected to continue over the next several days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Apart from Hyderabad, several districts across Telangana are also witnessing a significant drop in temperatures. In many parts of the city, minimum temperatures have already fallen below 15 degrees Celsius. Areas such as Tirumalagiri, Asifnagar, Maredpally, Bahadurpura and Shaikpet have reported colder-than-usual nights.
In other districts of Telangana, the situation appears more severe, with minimum temperatures dipping below 11 degrees Celsius. Sangareddy district recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 10.5 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Telangana-based weather forecaster Balaji has predicted that a second cold wave is likely to affect the region from January 5 to January 12. He noted that night temperatures may fall sharply during this period, while daytime temperatures could also decline to around 25 degrees Celsius.
Despite these developments, the IMD Hyderabad centre has not issued any official winter or cold wave alert so far. The department, however, has forecast that foggy or misty conditions will persist in the city until January 8, with hazy weather expected during night and early morning hours.
In view of the prevailing weather conditions, residents have been advised to plan travel cautiously, particularly during late-night and early-morning hours, as reduced visibility due to fog may impact road safety.
