
Azamgarh,
05 Jan (HS): Two people, including a former village head, were killed on the
spot last night after being hit by a speeding trailer in Bindra Bazaar town,
under the Gambhirpur police station area of Azamgarh district in Uttar
Pradesh. Police have taken both bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem
examination, and have taken the trailer and its driver into custody.
According
to reports, two young men were returning home from Azamgarh on an Apache bike
around 9 p.m. Sunday night. They had reached Gambhirpur town when a trailer
coming from behind struck their bike. The impact was so severe that both died
on the spot. The deceased have been identified as former village head Santosh
Yadav, 38, son of Munna Yadav, resident of village Singhada, Gambhirpur police
station, and Sandeep Yadav, 32, son of Amitabh Yadav, resident of village
Bhagwanpur, Bardah police station.
After
the accident, the trailer driver fled from the spot with the vehicle. On
receiving information, the police reached the spot and after chasing, caught
the driver along with the trailer and brought them to the police station. After
informing the family members, the police have sent both the bodies for
postmortem. CO Sadar Aastha Jaiswal said that last night a trailer hit two
persons riding a bike. Both the persons died in the accident. The bodies have
been sent for postmortem. The trailer driver and the helper have been taken
into custody and legal action is being taken.
