Kolkata, 05 January (H.S.) : Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament and actor Dev has been served a notice to appear for a hearing under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. According to sources, the information was conveyed by the councillor of his locality.
Along with Dev, three other members of his family have also been summoned for the hearing. Sources said the notice has already been delivered to his residence. It remains to be seen whether Dev and his family members will appear before the authorities on the scheduled date.
Election Commission officials said the notice was issued because the lower portion of the voter form, which required information linked to records from 2002, was not properly filled. Due to this incomplete information, the hearing was deemed necessary. It is also reported that several other residents of the same building have been called for SIR hearings for similar reasons.
Meanwhile, cricketer Mohammed Shami was also summoned for an SIR hearing on Monday. However, he could not appear as he was out of station due to a match commitment. On the other hand, actors Kaushik Banerjee and Laboni Sarkar attended the hearing as scheduled.
