05 Jan (HS): The Yogi Adityanath government has provided significant relief to
millions of young people preparing for police recruitment in Uttar Pradesh.
Prioritizing the interests of candidates, on the Chief Minister's instructions,
a one-time three-year relaxation in the upper age limit has been announced for
the proposed direct recruitment for constable civilian police and equivalent
positions in the police force in 2025. A government order in this regard was
issued on Monday.
Millions
of youth will benefit: This important decision has been taken to fill a total
of 32,679 posts under Direct Recruitment-2025. According to the government
order, this age relaxation will be provided once to candidates of all
categories participating in the recruitment process for the posts of Constable
Civil Police (Male/Female), Constable PAC/Armed Police (Male), Constable
Special Security Force (Male), Female Constable for Women Battalion, Constable
Mounted Police (Male) and Jail Warder (Male and Female).
The
government has taken this decision in light of Rule 3 of the Uttar Pradesh
Public Services (Relaxation of Age Limit for Recruitment) Rules, 1992. This
decision has been implemented through a government order issued on January 5,
2026, in continuation of the recruitment notification issued on December 31,
2025, which will provide opportunities to a large number of candidates who were
previously excluded from the recruitment process due to age limits.
Yogi
Adityanath government in the interest of youth: A government spokesperson
stated that this move by the Yogi government sends a clear message that the
state government understands the real problems of youth and does not shy away
from taking concrete decisions to address them. Providing equitable
opportunities to candidates preparing for competitive exams, providing a wide
range of employment options, and maintaining sensitivity in administrative
decisions have become a part of the Yogi government's working style. This decision
to relax the age limit for police recruitment will not only reinvigorate the
hopes of millions of youth, but also demonstrates that the future of youth is
at the center of policymaking under the Yogi Adityanath government.
