Guwahati, 5 January (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said the Bharatiya Janata Party has launched its campaign to ensure a decisive victory in the forthcoming Assam Assembly elections, with the party rolling out a statewide wall writing drive.

The Chief Minister said the wall writing campaign formally began on Monday and will see the BJP’s election symbol, the lotus, painted on walls across Assam as part of the party’s outreach and mobilisation efforts.

Dr Sarma inaugurated the programme at Khanapara in Guwahati by painting the lotus symbol, in the presence of BJP Assam Pradesh president Dilip Saikia and over a hundred party workers. He said the campaign marks the beginning of the BJP’s grassroots-level election preparations.

Sharing the message “Painting the town saffron!”, the Chief Minister said the lotus would soon bloom on walls across the state as BJP workers take to the streets to connect with the people through the wall painting drive.----------
