Chennai, 04 January (H.S.) : The AIADMK has announced that its high-level manifesto committee will embark on a comprehensive fourteen day tour across Tamil Nadu starting January 7.
The committee, which was recently constituted by party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, held its first consultative meeting on Saturday at the party headquarters to finalize the itinerary and strategies for gathering public input.
The panel includes veteran leaders such as Natham R Viswanathan, C Ponnaiyan, and R B Udhayakumar, who have been tasked with drafting a document that reflects the aspirations of the people ahead of the 2026 assembly elections.
During the tour, which is scheduled to conclude on January 20, the committee will visit several major cities including Vellore, Salem, Villupuram, Tiruchirappalli, Thanjavur, Sivaganga, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Coimbatore, and Chennai.
The primary objective is to interact directly with various stakeholders to understand their specific needs and grievances. The party aims to produce a people-centric manifesto that focuses on developmental initiatives and social welfare, continuing its tradition of basing election promises on ground-level feedback from the electorate.
Authorities within the party have directed district secretaries to coordinate with different sections of society, including farmers, handloom weavers, government employees, and small business owners. Edappadi K Palaniswami emphasized the importance of reaching out to traders' associations and self-help groups to ensure their concerns are adequately represented.
Party officials stated that all updates and suggestions received during these sessions will be carefully analyzed to form the core of the AIADMK’s election strategy. This proactive outreach is seen as a key step in the party's preparations to regain power in the upcoming state polls.
