Lucknow,
14 Jan (HS): Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath,
the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously taking effective initiatives to
empower the youth of the state with modern, employment-oriented and globally
standardized skills. In this series, the main competitions were successfully
organized in the first phase of the State Level Skill Competition, organized in
Lucknow as an important phase of the India Skills Competition–2026 by the Uttar
Pradesh Skill Development Mission. 451 youths from 18 divisions of the state
participated in the competition and impressively showcased their technical
skills, innovation and efficiency.
Under
the competition, main competitions were organized in 06 major skills including
Electronics, Fashion Technology, CNC Turning, Welding, CNC Milling and Additive
Manufacturing in 16 modern workshops of 09 prominent institutions located in
Lucknow. Participants demonstrated their practical understanding, technical
ability and creativity using state-of-the-art machines and techniques as per
the World Skills standards.
Kapil
Dev Agarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Vocational Education,
Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, said that the Yogi government's goal is
not to limit the youth of the state to training only, but to fully prepare them
for national and international competition. The State Level Skill Competition
is becoming a powerful medium to recognize the talent of the youth as well as
to take them to global platforms.
Pulkit
Khare, Director of the Skill Development Mission, informed that special judging
committees have been formed by including representatives from the industry for
fair, transparent and quality evaluation of the competitions. At least two best
talents from each skill will be selected for the next phase of competitions.
The selected talents will represent the state at the national level by
performing excellently in the upcoming phases, while the top performing youths
will also get an opportunity to participate in the World Skills Competition to
be held in Shanghai, China.
He
said that an atmosphere of enthusiasm, confidence and positive competition was
seen among the participants in the competitions organized in all the
institutions, which clearly reflects the increasing faith in skill development
in the state and the success of the Yogi government's policies.
