Chandrapur, 14 Jan

(HS): A farmer was killed by a tiger in Tekri village in Nagbhid tehsil of

Chandrapur district. The tiger attacked Bhaurao Vithoba Raut (60) on Tuesday

evening. He had gone to his farm hired and was returning when the tiger

attacked him. The farm on near the road, because of which villagers noticed the

attack and immediately informed the police and the forest department officials.

Following the ‘panchnama’ patrolling in the area was hiked. Forest Department

officials informed that the family of the deceased was immediately extended

financial support of Rs 25,000.
