New Delhi, 14 January (H.S.): Patiala House Court in Delhi remanded five accused in the Red Fort blast case to three days of National Investigation Agency (NIA) custody today, Wednesday. Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna ordered Dr. Shaheen Saeed, Mufti Irfan Ahmad, Zahir Bilal Wani alias Danish, Dr. Adil Ahmad, and Dr. Muzammil Shakeel to NIA custody.
The court had previously remanded Zahir Bilal Wani alias Danish to NIA custody on November 18. The NIA arrested Danish from Srinagar.
According to the NIA, Danish modified drone technology and attempted to prepare a rocket before the car bomb explosion. Danish played a key role in executing the entire conspiracy alongside Umar un Nabi.
A political science graduate, Danish was brainwashed by Umar to become a suicide attacker. He agreed to meet the doctor module in a Kulgam mosque in October 2024, after which he was taken to Al Falah University in Faridabad, Haryana, to reside there.
