Jalaun,
14 Jan (HS): Two cow slaughter suspects were apprehended after being injured
during an encounter with a police unit here, authorities said on Wednesday. According
to Superintendent of Police (SP) Durgesh Kumar, the district SWAT squad
collaborated with Konch Kotwali police to carry out the operation. During the
Tuesday night encounter, the accused was found with illegal guns, live and
spent cartridges, a motorbike, a knife, and a cleaver, he claimed. According to
authorities, animal corpses were discovered on January 11 in a field-side drain
between Kudra Khurd and Kudra Buzurg villages in the Konch police station
district. A police squad hurried to the scene, had the corpse checked by a
veterinarian, and then buried the remains respectfully.
According
to police, a complaint has been filed against unidentified suspects under the
Uttar Pradesh Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act. Considering the gravity of the
situation, SP Kumar formed four police squads to apprehend the criminals.
During the inquiry, three suspects were identified using electronic monitoring
and other evidence, according to the authorities. On Tuesday night, authorities
obtained information that two of the suspects in the cow slaughter case
intended to attack again in Konch's Bhed district. Based on the information,
the SWAT squad and Konch police put up a roadblock and began checking the
Khova-Rava connection route, according to authorities.
When
police attempted to halt two men riding a motorbike, they reportedly opened
fire on the cops, intending to kill, according to authorities. Police responded
in self-defense, causing both suspects to be shot and apprehended, according to
reports. According to police, the injured suspects are Kalla alias Javed (45)
and Asgar alias Aggas (46), both of whom live in the Arazi Line community near
the Konch police station. Cases have been filed in connection with the
