Hyderabad, 9 August (H.S.): A special event to launch Syed Kirmani's autobiography, Stumped, will take place at Taj Deccan in Hyderabad on Sunday, August 10, 2024, officiated by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy. This follows the book’s initial unveiling at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on December 29, 2024, with notable attendees including Kapil Dev, Rahul Dravid, and Infosys founder NR Narayana Murthy. In Stumped, Kirmani details his journey from Bengaluru’s streets to becoming a legendary wicket-keeper for India and a key member of the 1983 World Cup-winning team.

The memoir candidly addresses the highs and lows of his career, reflecting on the challenges of fame, including jealousy from others. The Hyderabad launch will feature 1983 teammates Mohinder Amarnath and Kirti Azad, along with local sports legends like Saina Nehwal, Pullela Gopichand, and Mohammad Azharuddin, highlighting Kirmani's influence across sports.
