Srinagar, 9 August (H.S.): Shri Kailakh Jyotish Avim Vedic Sansthan Trust, Raipur (Thather), Jammu, successfully concluded the grand Sanskrit Festival at Mishriwala, in the Jammu North Assembly constituency today.

The programme was graced by Sham Lal Sharma, MLA, as chief guest; Surinder Bhagat, MLA, Marh as special guest; Suresh Sharma, former judge and member of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and Prof. R D Sharma, former Vice Chancellor as guests of honour. The keynote speaker on the occasion was Shakti Pathak, Chief Trustee, Chudamani Sanskrit Sansthan, Basohli; and it was chaired by Mahant Rohit Shastri, president, Shri Kailakh Jyotish avim Vedic Sansthan Trust.

Rohit Shastri, presented a report of the month-long activities held under “Sanskrit Month,” highlighting how the Trust organized Sanskrit conversation sessions, medicinal plant distribution, Sanskrit nameplate installations, recitations, medical camps, and various innovative programmes in schools, colleges, temples, and public places to bring Sanskrit closer to the masses.

Shakti Pathak said that Sanskrit is not merely a language, but the very soul of India’s spiritual consciousness. Citing various stotras and shlokas, he emphasized that the foundation of Indian knowledge traditions lies in Sanskrit. Today, Sanskrit is studied not only in India but also in universities across the world. While the number of Sanskrit speakers is currently limited, Shri Kailakh Jyotish and Vedic Sansthan is working dedicatedly for its revival, he added.

Former judge Suresh Sharma described Sanskrit as the root language of justice, religion, and administrative systems. He stressed that until we restore the language of our scriptures and traditions, establishing balance in society will remain difficult.

Sham Sharma called Sanskrit the backbone of Indian culture and said that if we wish to bring our glorious past to life, we must revive Sanskrit. He lauded the Sanskrit Month organized by Shri Kailakh Trust as a strong step towards nation-building, saying that such events inspire intellectual awakening and cultural consciousness essential for the unity and integrity of the country.
