One held at Mumbai airport for smuggling foreign animals
Mumbai, 09 Aug (HS): A traveller coming from Bangkok was arrested at Mumbai Airport by the Excise Department personnel for smuggling foreign animals into India. The animals were concealed in a trolley bag by the passenger.

Mumbai, 09 Aug (HS): A traveller coming from Bangkok

was arrested at Mumbai Airport by the Excise Department personnel for

smuggling foreign animals into India. The animals were concealed in a trolley

bag by the passenger.

The Excise Department searched the baggage of the suspected

passenger, two Kinkajou (Potos flavus), two pigmy marmosets, and 50 albino Red

Ear Sliders turtles.

The animal smuggler was arrested and identified as Shahrukh

Mohammad Hasian. The animals were handed over for further procedure. Police are

investigating the origin and destination of the smuggled animals.
