Kolkata, 9 August (H.S.): On the occasion of Raksha Bandhan, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee extended greetings to the people of the state while reiterating her emphasis on Bengal’s identity, culture, and heritage.
In her message, Banerjee highlighted Bengal’s traditions, natural resources, and cultural pride, saying, “The soil of Bengal, the water of Bengal, the air of Bengal, the fruits of Bengal — blessed be, blessed be, blessed be, O Lord.”
The Chief Minister noted that Raksha Bandhan is not just a festival celebrating the bond between brothers and sisters, but also a symbol of trust, love, and unity. She expressed confidence that the festival would further strengthen harmony and brotherhood in society.
