Karra to join hunger strike in Srinagar for Statehood today


Srinagar, 9 August (H.S.): JKPCC president, Tariq Hameed Karra will launch the party’s hunger strike for Statehood in Srinagar.

As announced earlier by the party to intensify the Statehood movement, JKPCC president Tariq Hameed Karra shall launch the hunger strike on Saturday at Srinagar by joining the hunger strike himself alongwith all district presidents and district coordinators of PCC for Kashmir province.

This was stated by the party’s chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma here today.

He said that PCC chief will also launch the party’s hunger strike in Jammu, next day on August 10 by joining the hunger strike along with all district presidents and district coordinators of the party for Jammu province. He said that hunger strike shall be started at Maharaja Hari Singh statue site at Tawi Bridge from 10 am onwards.

Sharma said that party president Tariq Hameed Karra had already announced the phase wise schedule of intensification of the struggle for restoration of full Statehood in a press conference at Jammu on July 28.

He said that PCC president shall himself lead the hunger strike in both capital cities to further intensify the over eight months long movement of the party ‘ Hamari Riyasat Hamara Haq ‘, which has already gained momentum after the `Srinagar Chalo’, `Jammu Chalo’ and `Delhi Chalo’ call organised by the party on July 19, 20 & 21-22, respectively and gaining more and more support of people and different political, social and trade organizations in the UT and all over country.

He said that the party shall review and draw the future strategy and course of action, on the issue after 20th August, he added.
