Chennai, 9 August (H.S.): In a heartwarming trend, more men and boys are joining the hair donation movement in Chennai. The initiative, which aims to provide free wigs to cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy, has seen a significant surge in male participants.

Over the past few months, numerous men and boys have visited hair donation centers in the city, eager to contribute to the noble cause. Many of them have been inspired by the stories of cancer patients who have benefited from the program. Sara Benjamin Cherian, the head of the Gift Hair, Gift Confidence campaign at The Cherian Foundation said, The narrative is shifting, and it's not just women and young girls who are donating their hair anymore; men are sharing this responsibility too. She has also mentioned that this is happening with school children getting permission to grow their hair for donation and men even forgoing long-held traditions for the cause.

The hair donation process involves cutting and collecting hair, which is then used to create natural-looking wigs for cancer patients. The wigs help restore the patients' confidence and self-esteem during a challenging period.

The organizers of the movement have expressed their gratitude to the men and boys who have joined the cause, saying that their contributions will go a long way in making a difference in the lives of cancer patients.
