Dhemaji (Assam), 09 August (HS): In a major boost for sports in Dhemaji district, its name will soon be included in the map of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) has announced plans to construct a state-of-the-art cricket stadium at Hatigad Deori Bil.

ACA president Tarang Gogoi, along with other officials, inspected the proposed site on Saturday. Assam’s Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, MP Pradan Baruah, District Commissioner Rahul Suresh Jayvir, and members of the Dhemaji District Sports Association were also present.

Following the transfer of 30 bighas of land to the ACA at Hatigad Deori Bil, construction of the stadium is expected to begin within the next two months. The announcement has sparked excitement among local residents.
