Kamrup (Assam), 09 August (HS): Railway police seized 82 kg of ganja from five large trolley bags at Rangiya railway station. The contraband was recovered from the Lower Assam Express during an operation to intercept illicit transportation from Manipur to Delhi via Dimapur.
Two traffickers, identified as Tariq Khan and Afroz Pathan from East Imphal, were arrested after falling into the police trap. Despite attempts to evade detection, both were apprehended. According to police, the seized ganja is valued at over ₹4.5 million. Intense interrogation of the accused is currently underway.
