Muzaffarnagar,
06 Aug (HS): Police have apprehended a man who decamped with Rs 13.65 lakh in
cash and an SUV belonging to his employer, a Delhi-based coal merchant,
officials said on Wednesday. Police officers reported that the stolen cash and
Toyota Fortuner vehicle had also been found.
According to cops, the incident
happened on Tuesday when dealer Ayush Jain was returning to Delhi after
collecting cash. On his route, he stopped at a dhaba on the Delhi-Dehradun
National Highway, near the Kotwali police station. While Jain was eating, his
driver, Parmeshwar Yadav, escaped with the money and SUV. According to Circle
Officer Ramashish Yadav, a case was filed under Section 316 (criminal breach of
trust) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) in response to Jain's complaints.
A
search operation was begun immediately, and CCTV footage assisted police in
locating the culprit, who was caught near the Sufeda Road underpass in
Khatauli. The officer reported that the stolen money and the SUV had been
retrieved from the accused.
