Itanagar (Arunachal), 06 August (HS): In a major breakthrough, Itanagar police have arrested four members of an inter-state vehicle theft gang and recovered six stolen vehicles, including four Toyota Fortuners and two Hyundai Cretas.

According to police officials, the arrests were made in connection with case number 102/2025, under which a total of 63 stolen vehicles have been recovered so far, and nine accused have been arrested.

The ongoing investigation has revealed that the arrested individuals were part of two separate gangs involved in vehicle theft. The police have intensified efforts to trace the original owners of the recovered vehicles and coordinate with police departments of other states where the theft cases were initially registered.

Citizens have been advised to approach the nearest police station if they suspect their vehicle is missing or might be among the recovered ones, and to cooperate in the verification process.
