Jammu, 6 August (H.S.): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today lashed out at those parties which observed August 5 the day on which controversial Article 370 and 35 A were annulled by Narendra Modi as Black Day.

The Article 370 and 35 A was the root cause of secessionism that also later led to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir and with Modi Government annulling these controversial articles on this day in 2019 the situation has altogether changed in Kashmir Valley, BJP chief spokesperson, Sunil Sethi told reporters here, today.

“Those leaders and parties who are crying against the decision of Modi Government had a vested interest as they were doing the politics on the dead bodies of the people of J&K”. He said those leaders who are living in India and enjoying all facilities here should behave like patriotic Indians. “They can’t dictate us to hold talks with Pakistan which is the mother of terrorism”, Sethi said.

He said India is not opposed to talks but it can’t hold talks with that country which is supporting terrorism, giving them training on its soil and sending them to indulge in terrorist activities in J&K. Indian stand on this issue is that Pakistan should first make it known to entire world through its actions that it is not going to support terrorism any more, dismantle all terrorist camps, hand over terrorist leaders in its country to India and fix modalities for handing over of PoJK to India only then talks with Pakistan can be possible, he added.

Sethi said Pakistan which is at the verge of bankruptcy should keep this in mind that it can’t afford to take cudgels with a strong economy like India and by normalising ties with India is in the larger interests of Pakistan and its people.

Terming the decision of August 5 in 2019 as historic, Sethi said situation since then has totally changed in Kashmir Valley. There are no bandhs and strikes now besides the stone pelting incidents have also not been reported from any part of Kashmir since then. The people feel a sense of security in Kashmir as there is no threat of gun. Admitting that some stray incidents of terrorism like that of Pahalgam and Pulwama have happened but overall life is normal in Kashmir.
