Bhubaneswar, 6 August (H.S.) Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi met Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C. R. Patil in New Delhi today to discuss the long-standing Mahanadi water dispute and urge the Centre to facilitate a fair and just resolution in the interest of the people of Odisha.
During the meeting, CM Majhi highlighted the state's concerns regarding the equitable sharing of Mahanadi river waters, stressing the livelihood and ecological significance the river holds for millions in Odisha. He reiterated the need for a solution that upholds the principles of justice, sustainability, and cooperative federalism.
On this occasion, Chief Minister Majhi also handed over a comprehensive document titled ‘Vision Odisha 2036 | 2047’, which outlines the state’s long-term developmental roadmap leading up to Odisha’s centenary in 2036 and India’s centenary of independence in 2047. The vision document focuses on inclusive growth, water security, sustainable infrastructure, and social equity.
