Medinipur, 6 August (H.S.): While en route to Jhargram for the language movement, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee issued key directives to the DM and SP during a public interaction on Wednesday.

She clearly told the people of the area that no one should be evicted for the construction of Kangsabati bridge. Locals were happy to hear the order of the Chief Minister. Everyone expressed their gratitude to her.

As per information, the construction of the bridge on the Kangsabati river in Medinipur is expected to start soon. Funds have also been allocated for this purpose. Naturally, shopkeepers and residents living on the banks of the Shilavati river are afraid of eviction. After learning that the Chief Minister will go to Jhargram by road from Medinipur, on Wednesday, the local people stood on the roadside to see the Chief Minister. Seeing the people standing on the roadside, the Chief Minister stopped her car. The local people requested not to evict them. The Chief Minister immediately ordered the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police to do the same. She also assured rehabilitation later.

After that the Chief Minister left for Jhargram. After going a little further, the Chief Minister went to the 'Amader Pada, Amader Samadhan' camp and saw whether the work was being done properly or not. After this she again left for her destination.
