Jammu, 6 August (H.S.): Dr. Narinder Singh, BJP national secretary and MLA from RS Pura-Jammu South, inaugurated development works amounting to Rs 1.88 crore alongside the canal road in Jeewan Nagar, Jammu.

The inauguration marks a major step in transforming the canal bank into a vibrant, eco-friendly public space while preserving its natural beauty and cultural relevance.

The development project includes beautification of the entire stretch of the canal-side pathway, enhancement of green cover by conserving existing plantations, and construction of proper ghats and steps on the canal banks. These ghats are expected to facilitate various customary rituals and provide clean, accessible spaces for public use.

Speaking at the occasion, Dr. Narinder Singh emphasized the commitment of the BJP-led Government under Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to grassroots development and environmental sustainability. “Under the visionary leadership of PM Narendra Modi , every corner of the nation including Jammu is witnessing rapid development with a focus on tradition, ecology, and utility. Today’s project is a reflection of our commitment to ensuring that development reaches the last person in the queue,” he said.

Dr. Singh further added, “We are not just creating infrastructure, but also preserving the essence of our heritage and environment. It is our duty to provide better civic amenities while respecting nature and tradition.”

He was accompanied by BJP district president, Naresh Singh Jasrotia, local BJP leaders, senior party workers, departmental Executive Engineer, officials, and the area councillor, who played a key role in facilitating the project.

The local councillor, in his vote of thanks, expressed deep gratitude to Dr. Narinder Singh for his proactive efforts in pushing forward much-needed development works in the region. “This project will greatly benefit the residents of Jeewan Nagar and surrounding areas.
