Mumbai, 06 Aug (HS): The Western Railway authorities
collected a fine of Rs 70.98 crore from passengers travelling without a ticket in
suburban local trains, express, passenger trains, and holiday special trains.
The fine was collected during a drive from April to July 2025. The fine
collected is about 24% more compared to last year during the same period and 11% over
the target fixed by the Railway Board. The total fine includes 19.55 crore from those without a ticket in local trains.
The Western Railway in July registered 2.22 lakh
cases related to travel without a ticket and luggage without proper booking, and

The authorities are conducting surprise checking
