Kolkata, 6 August (H.S.) Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari has once again launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. In a post on micro-blogging site X on Wednesday, Suvendu claimed that Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is so afraid of Abhaya's parents that she has fled to Jhargram and the police is busy saving her chair at Nabanna. Suvendu Adhikari wrote on X, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who is responsible for the atrocities on the doctor sister and her death, is so afraid of Abhaya's parents that she has fled to Jhargram to save herself.
Suvendu Adhikari claimed that the people responsible for the inhuman incident that happened with the female doctor in RG Kar a year ago have not been punished yet. He said that the family members of the victim are now going to Nabanna and seek answers from the Chief Minister, who is also the Health Minister. Due to this fear, the Chief Minister has fled away from the city on the pretext of an administrative programme.
He quipped that the police of the entire state is being brought to the streets so that no one can shake the Chief Minister's chair located on the fourteenth floor of the blue building in Howrah.
In this connection, an important meeting has been organized at Shibpur Police Line in Howrah on Wednesday evening. As per information, an action is proposed on August 9 regarding the 'Nabanna Abhiyan', for which a briefing of police officers has been scheduled on August 6 at 5 pm for pre-preparation. Various high-ranking IPS officers of the state have been called in the meeting.
Raising questions about this meeting, Suvendu Adhikari said that the police is engaged in suppressing the voice of the public and saving the chair. They are not interested in providing justice to the public.
Anyway, this statement of the Leader of Opposition is indicating a growing confrontation between the ruling party and the opposition regarding the upcoming 'Nabanna Abhiyan'.
