Nadia, 6 August (H.S.) The body of a deaf and dumb girl was found in a pond near her house in Karimpur of the district. The mother of the deceased girl has been taken into custody.

As per information, the seven-year-old girl lived with her mother in a house in Karimpur. Her father is a migrant labourer by profession. He lives in another state. According to local sources, the girl lived at home. On Wednesday morning, neighbors saw the girl floating in the pond behind the house. On information, the police went to the spot and recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.

Neighbors claimed that the changes that are seen in the body when someone dies by drowning were not there. They claimed that there may be a conspiracy behind this death. The cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem report comes. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
