Guwahati (Assam), 06 August (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma launched the second edition of the “Chief Minister’s Nizut Moina Asoni 2.0” scheme at Gauhati University’s Birinchi Kumar Baruah Auditorium in Jalukbari on Wednesday, reaffirming the government’s commitment to the welfare and education of girls in the state.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Sarma said, “We are always responsible for every girl in Assam. We have given the greatest importance to girls’ education.” He emphasized that education is key to eradicating child marriage, and that this scheme is a step in that direction.

More than 4 lakh girl students from across Assam are expected to benefit under the second phase of the scheme. The program also marked the formal distribution of application forms for the ‘Chief Minister’s Private Girl’s College 2.0’ initiative.

The event was attended by Education Minister Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Gauhati University Vice Chancellor Dr. Nani Gopal Mahanta, and a large gathering of female students and dignitaries.
