Prayagraj,
06 Aug (HS): David Andrew Luke, the principal of the city's prominent 200-year-old
Boys High School & College, has obtained anticipatory bail from the MP/MLA
Special Court in a criminal matter.
David Andrew Luke is relieved for the time being by this order. He's been with the institution for
decades. At Civil Lines Police Station,
a FIR was filed against him under several fraud laws. Special Judge Yogesh
issued this order after hearing the prosecution's and David Andrew Luke's
attorneys' arguments.
The court ruled that if the applicant is
detained, he should be freed on personal bail and sureties. He has also been
instructed to cooperate in the inquiry and refrain from tampering with the
evidence. Because the case involves documents, the court determined that
custody interrogation is unnecessary.
The court further stated that providing protection from arrest is
acceptable in the current circumstances.
Cheating, forgery, and criminal intimidation
charges were brought against him at the Civil Lines police station under
sections 420, 467, 468, 471, and 506 of the Indian Penal Code. He has been accused of document discrepancies
and administrative malfeasance at schools.
Morris Edgar Dan filed this complaint, alleging that the mark sheet he
supplied with his signature in 2012 was a forgery. The lawyer for David Andrew
Luke stated in court that he has been implicated in a fake case and that all of
his work as an administrator was done honestly.
It was also stated that the case is entirely based on paperwork, with no
criminal intent.
