Kolkata, 6 August (H.S.) The scope of industrial and service sector is continuously increasing in West Bengal. The GST collected in the state in July this year is 12 percent more than in July last year. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee gave this information on social media on Tuesday. The Chief Minister said, This is a sign of continuous improvement in the state's trade and expenditure and a sign of good economic condition.
The Chief Minister, citing the data provided by the Central Government on social media, said that the gross goods and services tax or GST collection in July this year was ₹5,895 crore, while in the same period last year it was ₹5,257 crore. In percentage terms, this is 12 per cent more. It is a pleasure to inform that West Bengal has registered a spectacular 12 per cent year-on-year growth in the Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection for July 2025, which stood at ₹5,895 crore as compared to ₹5,257 crore in the same month last year. Also, the Chief Minister informed that the cumulative growth rate of the state's total GST collection till July is 7.71 per cent. According to economic experts, this figure of GST collection shows that new investments are coming in industry or business in the state. Factories are being set up one after the other. Along with this, the service sector is also growing rapidly.
