Agra, 05 Aug (HS): Uttar Pradesh Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath held an important review meeting in Agra on Tuesday to

assess the ground reality of development works. The meeting, held at the

Divisional Commissioner's office, was attended by public representatives,

senior officials and principal secretaries of various departments from the four

districts of Agra division: Agra, Mathura, Firozabad and Mainpuri. Through this

series of dialogues, the Chief Minister tried to ensure that development

schemes are not limited to papers only, but they meet the real needs of the

public.

Priority given to ground level

understanding of public representatives: In the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath personally discussed with every MLA the problems of their

constituency, public expectations and development priorities. He clarified that

the main objective of this meeting is not only to review government schemes,

but to include the ground level understanding and experiences of public

representatives in development works. He directed the officials to include all

the proposals received from all the public representatives in the action plan

and ensure that the benefits of development reach the last rung of the society.

On the question related to lack of funds

for development works, CM Yogi clarified that the government has sufficient

funds available for development works. He gave strict instructions to the

officials to coordinate with the public representatives, take proposals from

them and spend the entire amount received for development works. He warned that

due to lack of timely action plan, proposal and approval, the budget of many

departments goes back, which is against the intention of the government. He

also stressed on completing all the projects on time and with quality.

Roads will be pothole free, action to be

taken against contractor if guarantee is violated: While reviewing the Public

Works Department, the Chief Minister gave many important instructions. He said

that the works of roads, bridges, flyovers, bypasses and inter-state border

connectivity proposed by all the public representatives of the division

assembly wise should be included in the action plan. He asked to complete the

preparations to make all the roads pothole-free by running a campaign on war

footing after the rains. The CM also made it clear that every road built by the

construction agency and contractor has a guarantee time limit, if the road damage

occurs during this period, then after investigation, the repair work should be

done by the concerned contractor only and strict action should be taken against

negligence. Apart from this, he also directed to prepare proposals for building

long and short bridges on rivers soon.

Special focus on tourism and urban

development: Will get rid of waterlogging -- The tourism department informed in

a presentation that work is going on on 160 projects worth Rs 590 crore in the

division. On this, the Chief Minister directed the Charitable Works Department

to construct connecting roads to major urban and rural temples on the basis of

the number of devotees visiting the temples. While reviewing the Urban

Development Department, he described the problem of waterlogging in urban areas

as a major challenge. He directed all urban bodies to make such an effective

action plan for drainage construction, in which not only drains are

constructed, but proper arrangements are also ensured till the last level of

drainage.

Appreciation of 'Mission Asmita' of

Police and prominent presence: Police Commissioner Agra gave a presentation of

the action taken on the 'Mission Asmita' campaign related to illegal conversion

and crime before the Chief Minister, which was appreciated by the CM. In this

important meeting, other ministers including Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh,

Women and Child Development Nutrition Minister Baby Rani Maurya, Higher

Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay and Sugarcane Minister Laxmi Narayan

Chaudhary were also present on the stage with the Chief Minister. Apart from

this, MLAs, MLCs and senior administrative officers of various districts of the

division were also present in the meeting.
