Shahjahanpur, 05 Aug
(HS): An official stated on Tuesday that authorities have organized two teams
to dispel rumors about drones being used to conduct crimes. Dharmendra Pratap
Singh, District Magistrate, stated that such rumors were incorrect. People
should not worry as a result of such rumors, nor should they spread any
unsubstantiated material on social media, he stressed.
According to the DM, anybody who wants to fly a drone must first obtain
permission from the district administration, reveal the area of operation, and
explain the aim of the action.
They must also notify the local police station of the drone flight date, time,
and position.
According to Superintendent of Police Rajesh Dwivedi, numerous reports
regarding drone sightings followed by thefts were discovered to be fraudulent
following an inquiry.
“We have directed village
security committees, beat constables, sub-inspectors, chowkidars, and even
women cops to go out to people and promote awareness,” he remarked. Dwivedi stated that no incidents using drones
have been brought to our attention. Drones weighing up to 250 grams are
authorized to be used in weddings and other festivities without previous
permission; however, bigger drones require formal consent from administration. Several
districts, including Ayodhya, Muzaffarnagar, Mathura, Meerut, and Bijnor,
prohibited unlicensed drone activities on Monday. Drones are no longer
permitted in Ayodhya, where they were previously restricted to the temple town
area around the Ram Janmabhoomi complex.
