Dhubri (Assam), 30 August (HS): Police in Bilasipara have arrested a drug trafficker and seized a large quantity of narcotic tablets during an operation against illegal drugs, Bilasipara PS OC confirmed on Saturday.

Acting on intelligence input, the Bilasipara police conducted a raid at the Beltali market, where the rider team of Bilasipara police station apprehended the trafficker. The arrested person has been identified as Mahibul Islam.

During interrogation, Islam revealed that he had procured the narcotic tablets from Chapar. The seized consignment is valued in millions of rupees. Police have registered a case and further investigation is underway.
