Lucknow, 30 Aug (HS): Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister of Uttar Pradesh

and Minister in charge of Lucknow district, Suresh Kumar Khanna, on Saturday

conducted a surprise inspection of various wards of the city regarding

cleanliness and other arrangements. Mayor Sushma Kharkwal, Municipal

Commissioner Gaurav Kumar and Municipal Corporation officials were present

during the inspection. He inspected five wards of Zone 1 and 2. These include

Rani Laxmibai Ward (Aminabad Ghantaghar Park), Ganeshganj Ward, Labor Colony

Ward, Golaganj Ward and Kunwar Jyoti Prasad Ward. During the inspection,

cleanliness was found to be better than before at all places. The Minister in

charge first reached Rani Laxmibai Ward (Aminabad Ghantaghar Park). He gave

instructions for cleaning the park and the vacant land around it, and road

construction. He instructed the Municipal Corporation officials to make a

systematic parking on the vacant land. Also, gave strict instructions to

immediately remove the pipes and other construction material of Jal Nigam lying

on the spot. He said that regular monitoring of the works should also be done.

Mayor Kharkwal said that this site will be inspected again after a week.

During inspection in Ganeshganj ward, Khanna

found encroachment on drains and blocked drains. He directed the municipal

corporation officials to get the encroachment removed and the drains opened. He

also said that those who have obstructed the drains by encroaching them should

be fined. He said that the drainage system should be organised at any cost.

Cleanliness cannot be ensured without organised drains. He gave necessary

guidelines to the officials during inspection in Labour Colony ward and

Golaganj ward to make the cleanliness system more improved. He also instructed

officials to identify places and plant trees.

Suresh Kumar Khanna reached Kunwar Jyoti

Prasad ward of zone two. There he gave instructions to organize the park near

Mehndi Beg Kheda and to plant trees on a large scale. He said that he would

personally attend the tree plantation program and fixed the date of 9

September. He said that a tree plantation program would be organized in this

park on 9 September, in which more than 1000 saplings would be planted. The

minister gave instructions to immediately activate the engineering gang of the

Municipal Corporation and said that wherever there are problems related to

construction or cleanliness, work should be done immediately and facilities

should be provided to the public.
