Dhubri (Assam), 27 August (HS): A major accident took place at Dumrdah in Dhubri when a four-wheeler (AS-17Q-8055) was hit by a Dhubri-bound freight train coming from Bihar. The incident occurred as the vehicle attempted to cross the railway track at Parra.

Fortunately, the driver of the four-wheeler escaped unhurt, though the vehicle was badly damaged in the collision. The accident caused a massive traffic jam on the national highway, with vehicles stranded for nearly an hour before normalcy was restored.
