Hooghly, 27 August (H.S.) : A controversy has arisen over the objectionable picture of Goddess Kali made by unknown people on the wall of Dhela Ghat near Collegiate School in Chuchura of Hooghly district. However, the police covered the objectionable picture with tar late on Tuesday night. Allegedly, some anti-social elements associated with extreme leftist ideology deliberately made this painting with the aim of hurting Hindu religious sentiments.

The local Hindu community said that the police has taken a very good step. But the police will have to arrest the miscreants who made the distorted picture of Maa Kali and take action against them. In this regard, a written complaint was lodged by Hindu Samaj at the Chuchura police station on Wednesday afternoon. There is a lot of anger among the people of the Hindu community after the incident.
