Banda, 27 Aug (HS): In a domestic dispute on late Tuesday
night in Dhaunsad village of Tindwari police station area of Banda district
in Uttar Pradesh, a husband killed his wife by hitting her with an axe. As soon
as the information was received, the police reached the spot and sent the body
for postmortem and arrested the accused. Area Officer Rajveer Singh Gaur said
on Wednesday that the accused Ramasare (44) runs a grocery shop at home to
support the family. After having dinner at around 9 pm on Tuesday night, he
went to sleep in his room. After some time, his wife and children had dinner.
The children went to sleep in their room. After some time, the children heard
the sound of their mother screaming from the room. When they reached the door
of the children's room, it was locked from inside and Ramasare had attacked his
wife several times with an axe. The frightened children informed their uncle
about the incident over the phone. The uncle informed the police. The police
reached the spot, collected evidence with the help of the forensic team and
sent the body for postmortem. Police investigation has revealed that the
accused is handicapped in his legs and a few years ago he had attacked his wife
with a stick, in which she was seriously injured. The area officer said that
the accused has been arrested and the case is being thoroughly investigated. As
soon as a complaint is received from the family, a case will be registered and
further action will be taken.
