Goalpara (Assam), 13 August (HS): With just one day to go for the 79th Independence Day, preparations are in full swing across Goalpara district along with entire state. The district administration will host the central celebration at the JTS Playground in Goalpara city.

In the run-up to the event, the Goalpara district police have intensified security arrangements. Round-the-clock checks are being carried out on both land and waterways. Police checkpoints have been set up at key locations, while patrols on the Brahmaputra River are being conducted with motorized boats and speedboats. Additionally, heightened surveillance is being maintained in sensitive areas along the Assam-Meghalaya border.
