Bhubaneswar, 13 August (H.S.): Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Wednesday paid heartfelt tributes to Ahilyabai Holkar, describing her as a devout follower of Lord Shiva, a valiant queen, and a revered figure in Indian history.
Remembering her on her death anniversary, Pradhan highlighted Ahilyabai Holkar’s exceptional administrative acumen and her remarkable contributions towards religion, culture, and societal upliftment. “During her reign, she fostered an atmosphere of peace and prosperity not only in Malwa but across India,” he said.
Pradhan noted her role in rebuilding the Kashi Vishwanath Temple and preserving several other religious sites, reflecting her deep spiritual devotion. He also lauded her visionary leadership and pioneering efforts in women’s empowerment, adding that her life and work remain a source of inspiration for generations.
