(HS): On Tuesday late night, in the Shikohabad police station area, anti-social
elements vandalized Peer Baba's tomb and installed a statue of Lord Hanuman. On
Wednesday, after getting the information, the police removed the statue of Lord
Hanuman and got the tomb built.
The matter is of
village Malkhanpur of police station Shikohabad area. According to the
villagers, there is a many years old shrine of Peer Baba near Pratappur
crossroad. It is alleged that on Tuesday late night some anti-social elements
damaged this shrine and also installed the statue of Hanuman ji here. On
Wednesday, as soon as people came to know about this, a crowd gathered at the
spot. Police reached as soon as the information was received. Police handled
the situation by talking to the villagers. The police team immediately got the
shrine repaired and removed the statue of Hanuman ji. In view of the tense
situation in the area, police force has been deployed.
In this regard,
Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Triguna Vishen said that there was
a tomb in Malkhanpur village which was damaged by some anti-social elements at
night. After reaching the spot, the tomb has been rebuilt with the help of
local people and police teams have been formed to identify the anti-social elements.
Peace and order is maintained at the spot. Legal action is being taken.
