Lucknow, 13 Aug
(HS): On the third day of the monsoon session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative
Assembly, the proceedings of the House began at 11 am on Wednesday. There was
no question hour today. Directly after completing the legislative work, a
24-hour special discussion began on the developed Uttar Pradesh Vision
Document-2047. Finance and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna
proposed a discussion on the vision document in the Assembly. Meanwhile, the
leader of the opposition party demanded to extend the time period of the
discussion.
While proposing a
discussion on the vision document, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Suresh Khanna
said that on the occasion of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Prime Minister Narendra
Modi has conceptualized a developed India in 2047. This is possible only when
UP develops. In this sequence, a special discussion is being held on the vision
document of 2047 in the middle of this monsoon session. The goal is to make UP
poverty free and achieve self-reliance by the year 2047. For this, dependence
on the Center will have to be reduced. The income of the state will have to be
increased. Half the population will have to be made self-reliant. Its participation
in the work force will have to be increased to 60 percent. After independence,
UP went backward. The state was lagging behind due to migration, lockdown, poor
infrastructure, poor law and order. The picture of the state has changed after
Modi became the Prime Minister in the year 2014 and Yogi became the Chief
Minister in the year 2017.
Opposition
demanded to extend the duration of discussion: Earlier today, instead of taking
questions during the Question Hour, legislative work started to be completed.
After completing the legislative work, discussion on the vision document was to
begin. Meanwhile, Leader of Opposition Mata Prasad Pandey said that discussion
on the vision document is a good thing. In this, the vision of the year 2047
has to be discussed. Therefore, 24 hours is not enough. This period should be
extended. Only then can the discussion be done in detail. On this, Assembly
Speaker Satish Mahana said that the discussion should be done within 24 hours.
