Mid-Air Misconduct Complaint Rocks Chennai Airport, Police Investigation Underway

Chennai, 13 August (H.S.) : A disturbing incident unfolded on a flight from Coimbatore to Chennai, prompting a swift response from the Chennai Airport police. A female passenger lodged a complaint alleging verbal abuse and harassment by three male co-passengers during the flight on Tuesday night.

According to the complaint, the men, seated in the back row, were shouting and behaving in a manner that disturbed other passengers. When the 35-year-old complainant, seated in the row ahead, asked them to remain quiet, they allegedly hurled obscene abuse at her. Despite reporting the matter to the cabin crew, their behavior continued.

Upon landing at Chennai airport at 11 pm, the complainant claimed one of the men elbowed her while passengers were boarding the shuttle bus to the terminal. She promptly approached the airport police, who have initiated an investigation. Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects using CCTV footage and flight ticket details.

The complainant, who frequently travels between Chennai and Coimbatore for work as the principal of an international school in Chennai and another in Coimbatore, was shaken by the incident. The police are working to ensure justice is served and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

This incident highlights the need for increased vigilance and measures to prevent such incidents on flights. The Chennai Airport police are taking the matter seriously and are committed to resolving the case.
