Aug (HS): Mohammad Sharaf Rizvi, a native of Farrukhabad, who had entered into
a physical relationship with a Hindu woman on the pretext of marriage and then
pressured her to convert to Islam, was arrested near the Ashapuri police
outpost in the Sarnath area on Wednesday.

Commissioner Vijay Pratap Singh told reporters that the accused Mohammad Sharaf
Rizvi had kept his name as Samrat Singh on the matrimonial site. Hindu girls
used to send their proposals after being deceived by the name Samrat. After
this, he used to go to meet Hindu girls and during this time he used to
blackmail them by having physical relations with them. He even used to pressure
them to change their religion in the name of marriage. He did a similar
incident with a woman living in Ashapuri area.
He said that on
the complaint of the victim Hindu woman of Sarnath police station area, a
police team was deployed and they tracked and arrested this fraudster. The
police team recovered Rs 50,570 cash, three iPhones, an Aadhar card, a PAN card
and a bag full of clothes from him. He is being sent to jail in the case
registered against him.
