Chennai, 13 August (H.S.) : The AIADMK has strongly condemned the DMK government over an incident involving an explosion of a country-made bomb at a government polytechnic college in Thoothukudi. Two students sustained serious injuries in the incident, which has raised concerns about safety and security in educational institutions.
According to reports, the explosion occurred during lunch break when some students burst firecrackers inside a classroom. The incident has sent shockwaves across the state, with many questioning the government's ability to maintain law and order.
AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami expressed shock over the incident, denouncing the DMK regime for its failure to ensure the safety of people in Tamil Nadu. From knife fights among school-going students to machetes in school bags, and now, a bomb explosion on the premises of a government college – this is the grim reality of the prevailing situation in the state, Palaniswami said.
Palaniswami demanded that Chief Minister MK Stalin step out of his denial zone and answer questions about public safety and law enforcement. He also urged the state government to ensure appropriate medical care for the injured students and conduct a thorough probe into the incident, along with stern legal action against those responsible ¹.
The DMK government has not yet responded to the allegations, but the incident is likely to put pressure on the government to take immediate action to address concerns about safety and security in educational institutions. The incident has sparked a debate about the role of the government in ensuring the safety of students and the need for stricter measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
